Hottest Day of the Year Ride

Hottest Day of the Year RideWe can definitely say we had the coolest Hottest Day of the Year Ride on Sunday. The temperature hovered around 65 degrees most of the day. Luckily, we Portlanders don’t even notice a little cloud cover as evidenced by the pre-ride smiles and post-ride silliness.

The ride was a ton of fun, with families and friends enjoying the 15- and 40-mile tours winding through Portland’s neighborhoods (my favorite part was the looping overpass in North Portland).

We love what these rides do for Portland. And we appreciate that they benefit our bike safety programs for low-income youth and adults. We thank everyone who decided to take a ride instead of reading the paper on a gray Sunday morning. A special thanks goes to the dozens of volunteers for their hard work. And the folks from Good Sport Promotion did a fantastic job. They really know how to create bike fun!

If you didn’t make it out this year, please join us in February at the Worst Day of the Year Ride and next August for the Hottest Day of the Year Ride. We can’t promise the weather, but we can promise fun! And when you ride you help us help others become safe bicyclists.
