We believe that a bicycle is a tool for empowerment and a vehicle for change. The Community Cycling Center is a 501(c) 3 that broadens access to bicycling and its benefits through our hands-on programs, volunteer projects, and neighborhood shop.

General Position Summary

Throughout the year, the Community Cycling Center is invited to various community events including street fairs, community festivals, Fix-It fairs and school events. We are looking to build a team of Outreach Volunteers who will attend these events and raise the awareness of the Community Cycling Center.

Duties

  • Attend community events and provide information and education to individuals on the following:
    • Mission and vision
    • Programs and services
    • Volunteer opportunities
    • Donation opportunities
    • Retail services
  • Answer inquiries from individuals as needed
  • Provide resources and materials as appropriate
  • Regularly review organizational talking points

Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of bike resources and bike community in Portland
  • Ability to complete initial volunteer orientation and attend quarterly team socials (updates on organization)

Position Details

Pay: Volunteer
Length of commitment: 1 event
Estimated total hours: Varies by event; average 3-6 hours
Schedule: When you join the Volunteer Outreach Team, you will be placed on a roster and will be contacted by the Adult Programs Coordinator as event requests are received.
