Bike Recycling Volunteer

About the Community Cycling Center

We believe that a bicycle is a tool for empowerment and a vehicle for change. The Community Cycling Center is a 501(c) 3 that broadens access to bicycling and its benefits through our hands-on programs, volunteer projects, and neighborhood shop.

The Community Cycling Center is an energetic workplace with a collaborative style. Visit www.CommunityCyclingCenter.org for more information about us.

General Position Summary

The Community Cycling Center accepts donated bikes to benefit our programs benefiting low-income children and adults. Not all bikes can be used, so we choose to act responsibly by harvesting the parts we can use and then recycling the rest.

The Recycling Volunteers will work with our Used Inventory Coordinator to take apart bikes and wheels at our shop. Volunteers will use CCC tools and supplies to remove bike parts and accessories that we can use and then will properly dispose of the rest. This is an entry-level position, so we will teach you about our recycling process, how to use the tools and what to harvest.
