About the Position
We are seeking an individual who supports our mission, values and customer base. The individual selected to fill this position must be willing to work hard to create a professional, safe, and fun work environment. While this position requires a great deal of responsibility and experience it also offers an exciting opportunity for professional growth.
This person is responsible for making the retail area of the Community Cycling Center as organized, clean, welcoming and professional as possible. As the first person people encounter when visiting the Community Cycling Center, the individual selected must have a genuine interest in working with the public and ability to work with youth.
Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers with their inquiries about bikes
- Size and sell bicycles
- Greet incoming customers and organize customer flow
- Educate customers about programs and extend opportunities to donate t support us
- Take-in and process bike and cash donations
- Administer the We Cycle program for low income kids
- Answer the shop phone
- Notify customers of repaired bicycles and appointments
- Maintain a database of services provided
- Restock and record product inventory
- Open and close the shop according to shop guidelines
- Operate the cash register and perform register closing procedure
- Assist with or lead volunteer nights and Community events as directed
- Assist shop operations by cleaning, prepping, and tearing down bikes
- Supervise youth cleaning, prepping, and tearing down bikes
General Qualifications:
- Desire to work with the public, friendly, outgoing attitude
- Very organized and detail oriented
- Customer service experience
- Desire to learn and grow within the position
- Flexibility in schedule and ability to multi-task
- A commitment to the concept of environmental sustainability
- Willingness to accept guidance and feedback related to job duties
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- A respect for, and commitment to, diversity and teamwork
Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Hours: Full Time (32-40 hrs/wk)
We are hiring for both full and part time positions
Pay: $10.00/hour
Schedule: Weekend and evening availability required
Position Term: Seasonal, through September 30th
Benefits: Used Parts Allowance, working for an exciting, booming non-profit organization that is leading the nation in bicycle safety education, reuse education, and bike recycling.
