Fewer Bike Donations a Quandary
The Oregonian investigated why bike donations are down from years past, a worrying trend for the Community Cycling Center’s earn-a-bike programs. The Oregonian found the Community Cycling Center isn’t the only one feeling the effects.
In a way, it’s a great problem to have. The Community Cycling Center is excited to see so many people riding bicycles, especially used bikes. However, the lower number of donations is cause for concern. The Community Cycling Center will be holding bicycle collections to try to make up for a slower than usual period for bike collections. Spread the word to your colleagues, neighbors and friends. As our bike production manager, David Kuch, says, “we depend on the generosity of the public.”
