Adult Earn a Bike

The Adult Earn a Bike program provides adults living on low incomes with a bike complete with everything they need to start riding. This innovative program empowers participants to take control of their transportation needs while also providing them with a healthy form of recreation.

We are currently only offering this program with our partner communities at Hacienda and New Columbia.

After completing a hands-on bike safety training and maintenance course, participants receive a fully functioning bike plus lights, lock, helmet, rack, and tools. Our instructors meet participants at their level and work closely with them to build their skills and confidence. Through the Earn a Bike Program, individuals gain access to knowledge, support, and a means to safely travel where they need to go.

Bike Club – Kids Earn a Bike

Our after-school Bike Club program inspires the next generation of riders in Portland. In Bike Club, kids earn their own bike and develop important skills to help them navigate through life. The kids who participate in Bike Club do not have access or the means to afford safe bikes on their own. In Bike Club, kids have a chance to learn safe riding and maintenance techniques within a supportive group of peers and instructors. Bike Club is about more than just earning a bike; participants also develop teamwork, problem solving, and leadership skills by working and learning together.

After completing our Bike Club program, participants go home with a refurbished bicycle, new lock, tire levers, patch kit, and helmet. Kids leave Bike Club with the knowledge and tools to ride safely and the confidence to share their new skills with their community.
